Medications

I am 31 years old.  I have been on high blood pressure medication since I was 26 and have just been diagnosed with an under active thyroid.  My Dr. prescribed another pill for that.  So, I take 2 blood pressure pills every day and now have to take a thyroid pill everyday......for the rest of my life.  I was just wondering if taking so many pills from now on can have any adverse affects...long term?  I am young, thin and eat relatively healthy and yet I still have high blood pressure (not in my family either).  I guess I just have difficulty accepting it.  Just wondering if taking so much medication can hurt my kidneys...or any other major organs, long term?
Thanks
Liz

This is a great question for your pharmacist, they are really knowledgeable in drugs and side effects, sometimes more so than the doctors them self. I am not sure if they can cause long term damage to your kidneys. Do you drink a lot of water, you should always do that, that keeps the kidneys flushed and it is good for you anyway.

If you find out anything on this from your pharmacist, let us know, I would be interested in hearing about it. :-)
