My Dads coughs that causes him to black out

Hi there,

My Dad has had this cough for a few years now, its not like the normal cough where hes got the flu or the cold, it happens randomly. He has done tests and has told our local GP about it but still nothing. These days its gone really bad, he starts coughing, his face turns red and we know its bad when his cough holds for 2-3 secs and his eyes roll up and he black outs. The think is, is that my Dad does not smoke, was never a smoker but this happens often now and its real back. Sometimes when he coughs we watch him because sometimes we think thats it for him. This one time he blacked out and we asked him does he remember what happened during him coughing he says no.

I am really desperate for advise and appreciate any feedback.

Thankyou!

Best to have him checked by a pulmonologist and a neurologist because it may not only be lung related but a brain issue as well.
