Nail Biting fixed but new problem because of it

I've been chewing my nails for years and finally managed to stop, but it has now occured to me that in front of my thumb nails, the skin in front of them is too high up. My nail is starting to grow into this skin. Is there anyway to fix this. I tried clipping the skin down so it wasn't so tall but it is very painful because skin is perfectly live and health, not dead or dry at all. Please help

If you are referring to the cuticle, which is the skin surrounding your nail, this is not abnormal. You should keep it moisturized and let a professional manicurist take a look at it.

Or just clip your nails if it's getting too high, maybe.

What you have to do is NOT cut your skin but as your nail grows gently lift the nail over the skin and as it grows it will press the skin down and shouldn't cause any you any discomfort.
