Need Some Input

Hello Guys

So basically, this year has been the only year that I've ever consumed alcohol at all. I'm currently 20, so I'm still quite young. Basically I'm extremely fit and active and I live a pretty healthy lifestyle etc. I eat very healthily and I gym roughly 4 times a week. Anyways, I know this is no excuse but this year I've found myself waking up with serious hangovers because of excessive drinking the night before. I've got drunk on several occasions this year in an attempt to escape some problems and issues that have been an on-going problem for quite awhile now. I know this was stupid and in no way resolved any issues, apart from feeling numb to these feelings and issues at the time. Basically, what my question is, even though I've got drunk several times this year and woken up with bad hangovers etc, if I just stop this now, will my body recuperate and repair itself enough to be extremely healthy again the way I always have been? I do plan on stopping this whole cycle. I don't do it often, perhaps maybe once a month (this year only) or there have been 1 or 2 months where I've done it twice or so. Basically, I just want to know if I haven't caused serious damage as such? I'm a very health conscious individual so I'm just a bit concerned about this. The drinking, when occurred, was intense to the point of only remembering a little bit of what happened the night before. I know this is silly, but I've never ever been a drinker and I suppose I just wanted to know what it's like. Honestly, I hate it, but running away from the problems temporarily felt amazing, although the next morning, they're still there, along with vomiting and headaches. Okay well that's enough, I'm sure you catch my drift. I don't intend on drinking like this anymore, I've experienced it, I don't enjoy it and it sure isn't good for my system or anyone's system for that matter.

Any input would be great.
Thanks!

I have dealt with some of the issues and I'm still working on some...

On Saturday I found myself with a hangover which was quite bad, lots of vomiting which brought up stomach acid etc. As a result (now 2-3 days later) my throat is extremely sore (I'm assuming from the stomach acid that hurt it) and I find that my stomach muscles are extremely sensitive and I have slight pains here and there. In your opinion, do you think the stomach pains are from excessive vomiting the over use and contracting of stomach muscles? I have been taking care of my throat and I'm continuing to do so. I have also been taking some medicine for my stomach to alleviate the cramping / pains I experience. I've been eating some yoghurt that contains A&B cultures, some musli, drinking lots of green tea and in general just eating very healthily. I'm quite sure the stomach aches should subside fairly soon?

What are you thoughts on this?
This over indulging in alcohol which is now coming to a complete stop.

Thanks!

I started drinking around 12 and stopped at your current age. People talked me into it - I was way too naive to do something like that on my own. Anyway by the time I was 20 I realized things were getting out of control I decided to stop. For the first time I was starting to get hangovers so I knew that was not good as well.  I weaned myself over the course of about 3 months and slipped 1 time and then I was home free. If you stop long enough you will get to the point that you don't even like the stuff anymore. If you stop now you will be ok promise.
Good luck!

I used to be the same way for awhile and I have no health problems. The only way this would cause you problems would be if you drank for years and years, I wouldnt stress about it at all!

I don't think you have anything to worry about - as long as you didn't injure yourself somehow while you were drunk, your body will recover just fine - back up to 100% within a few weeks.  What is a concern is; is the issue you were getting drunk about been cleared up?  Mental stress can be so much more damaging to your health than anyone will admit.  Make sure everything is cleaned up - then you can really be fit, whether you exercise or not!

Pray daily! :-)
