Orbital Fracture - surgery?

Orbital Fracture - surgery?

A CT scan revealed a orbital floor fracture cause be blunt trauma 4 days ago. The doctor did not recommend surgery, but recommended observation. Also, I am in China. I would like a western doctors advice.

I had a CT scan, Ultrasound, 3-4 eye tests, including pressure, vision, some light test....

4 days later, Its still a little swollen, eye movement isnt restricted but a little pain when looking up or down, and i still have numbness in my cheek lip and left side of my nose. I have clear vision, same as before, and it appears no sunken eye.

I understand this is not enough information, but what would you suggest me to do and most importantly what should I be careful to look for in the future?

I had a fracture of the orbital floor but also in two other places in my cheekbone they called it a trimalar fracture and the bone actually dropped down.  I had to have surgery, they went in through my eyebrow and used a special tool called a gillies (SP) retractor and brought the bone back up into place.  I have a small plate along the side of my eye to keep it in place.  the eyebrow hid any scar.  You might be able to tell more after the swelling goes down but I would consult with a plastic surgeon and get their opinion.  Good luck to you as I know this is a painful injury.

i think yours might have been a little more serious than mine, cause i believe mine is just an orbital floor fracture, and the bones are still in place - because the doctor did not recommend surgery... yet....
