Painful enlarged gland in my groin

Hi,

I have an extremely painful enlarged lump on the right side of my groin. It hurts to walk, sit down, stand up, basically it hurts to do anything.
I have been to a GP (not my regular GP) and they said it was just an ingrown hair. That kind of makes sense as i had a wax about a month ago. If it is an ingrown hair, its the biggest ingrown i have ever seen.
But, im not convinced. About 5-6 months ago i noticed the glands in my groin (both sides) were enlarged, but not painful. I went to my GP and he said it was nothing, they were probably enlarged because i was bike riding. I went home and thought nothing of them. Some times they would be bigger then smaller, but they would never hurt.
Now all of a sudden, i have this. In exactly the same spot as the gland.
It is hard, red, the size of a 20c coin, goes deep under the skin and is extremely painful. It doesn't appear to have a head (like an ingrown might have).
The doctor has put me on antibiotics, but they haven't seemed to help or reduce the size at all.
Does anybody know what this might be? i need a second opinion.

I would definitely see another doctor, maybe a dermatologist. I really don't know what it could be, maybe some cysts, or benign tumor; the right doctor should be able to tell you.
