Painful movement and breathing lump on chest

For several months i have had extreme pain in my ribs it hurts when i move when i breath when i lift anything when i sleep it has been . Recently i developed a large lump i would say its bigger than a grape bigger than a half dollar and it extends kind of underneath my breast and along the top of my ribs, my left ribs are puffy and protrude much further than my right rib cage. I have had alot of trouble sleeping and infact last night i felt the hard lump not move in any way but almost like a buzzing bubbly feeling very faint. I thought it might of popped but sure enough it hasent and is so painful i cannot lift my upper body off the bed, I was sick about a year ago and i was sick for 10 months with cronic (chronic) appendicitus it was 80 to 90 percent blocked and i spent close to a year in bed un able to walk vomiting , my marrage was falling apart finally they removed it they had a hard time because they wanted to blame my pain on my ovarian cysts anyways this is my reasoning for being so frightful to go to the hospital. I know theres probably nothing wrong and it will more than likely go away but i worry about the small chance there could be something. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this ? what could it possibly be and why does it hurt so bad. Please help!!!!!
