Phnemonia and Stapf in the lungs

my boyfriend got admitted to hospital for phnemonia they first said he had strep a phnemonia in his right side and three days later they done another x ray and said it was worse then when we first came in that it had spreaded to the left side and today they told us that they found staph in his lungs what has to be done to get rid of the staph in his lungs? is it deadly?

I dont know if I can be much help but my BIO 20 class had to do presentations on different dieases and I  did pneumonia. What I know about it is that if it is not treated right away, then it can spread to the rest of the body. When it is combined with other dieases, they need to be treated right away. You have to be very careful because you can get it so when visiting him, wear a mask and wash your hands immediately. I hope this helps :)

Hello they need to continue to treat with IV antibiotics.  It may take a few different kinds to find the right one to get rid of the problem.  It can be a problem for him if they don't find the appropriate antibiotic or any of the antibiotics they have available fail to cure it, but usually they are able to cure it with very few residual effects.    Hopefully they will get him feeling better before long because he is a sick fellow right at the moment.
