Possible concussion with a brain bleed.

I am on coumadin and fell on my head on a carpet yesterday. I woke up with a headache could I have a concussion with a possible brain bleed? What do you suggest I do?

It is always better to be safe than to be sure.  The CT was appropriate or they would not have done the procedure. The modern machines provide a diagnostic tool that was unavailable until recently to definitively know if problems such as bleeds exist. I'm happy that there was no problem.

Thank you. I listened and went to the emergency room and had a cat scan since I have a pacemakee they could not do an MRI. No brain bleed thank goodness.

You need to go to an ER and you want an MRA. Go to the ER immediately regardless of whether the headache is large or small. This is a necessity. Brain bleeds are common after a head impact for someone on coumadin. If the condition is promptly evaluated and treated they may be no long-lasting consequences. The fact the headach may have stopped does not mean you do not need an evaluation. This must be at an ER.

You should get it checked out since you are on a blood thinner.  If you have a mild headache, then try to get into your GP today.  If it is a really bad headache, then I would just go straight to the ER.  Better to err on the side of caution.
