Question about Costochondritis

EA1
Hello,

I'm wondering what are the causes of Costochondritis? is it due to an injury or an infection?
What type of infections could lead to Costochondritis?

I have a pretty severe case of costochondritis, and when it flairs up, I hurt very badly bilaterally, chest area and back. my chiropractor helps a lot, so does using a heating pad. Advil is the only pain reliever that helps.

It is highly unlikely the costocondritis had anything to do with the chlamydia.

The term does not define the etiology.

The cause could be strain, injury, or an infection, generally bacterial or viral.

Generally the condition is "self-limiting" and resolves on it's own. For this reason many physicians don't spend a lot of time investigating the cause.

I got no back pains, its just an area on my left rib cage that feels bruised.

Costochondritis. Sometimes vitamin B6 helps, especially for women, but more often it’s caused by a strain on this joint stemming from a misalignment in your back. use a finger to press firmly on each of the vertebral spines, that row of bony bumps down the middle of
your back. If one or more hurt when pressed, it’s time for a visit to the chiropractor to correct the misalignment. If you have back pain, it’ll likely take care of that, and it can also eliminate the misalignment that’s bringing on the strain causing your costochondritis
By a report from DR.W.

My wife has costochondritis and Fibromyalgia, I had her take Yoga and have her do very light stretching with bands and light strength exercise this has
helped immensely. If you should try this you must start off very light and just for 5 minutes and slowly build up. If it helps you must not stop doing it or pain will come back.
