I hope you have an improvement soon!
You are very fortunate. I do believe stress of any kind , makes a huge difference in how symptoms of FMS present. I too had to quit working and would love to have the energy to go back to school in another field. I was a dental hygienist which is really hard on the body and is stressful. I just know that this climate intensifies my symptoms and the lack of sun creates SAD in winter. Good luck to you and thanks for the response.
I don't know if a change of residence will help your FMS...but it did help mine. I got sick in 2000 and was diagnosed with FMS in 2001. I went through periods of being bed ridden, unable to walk and in excruciating pain. I also had incredible fatigue, brain fog...this list goes on. I had to stop working at the career I loved, had to stop going to school...basically I lost my life as I knew it.
In October of 2006 I moved from California to Oklahoma (Tulsa area). I was able to pay cash for a foreclosure home so had no house payment. In December of 2006, my FMS started to go into remission. Since then my flares have become few and far between and MUCH milder when they do happen.
I went back to school and became a nurse (earned a 4.0 GPA), and I am now pregnant (23 weeks) and feeling better than I have in a decade. I believe moving here and having lower stress (especially having my house paid for) was what made the difference for me. I haven't had to take any meds other than my thyroid medication since Jan 2007.
