What time of day was the blood drawn? The WBC count tends to be lower in the morning and higher in the late afternoon and they are age-related. How old are you?
White blood cells, also known as leukocytes, play an important role in the immune system of an individual.
They fight infections in a process known as ‘phagocytosis’ where they surround the foreign organisms and destroy it. White blood cells also help in production, transportation and distribution of antibodies in order to build the body’s immune system. When acute infection occurs, the white blood cells produce colony-stimulating factor (CSF), which further stimulates the bone marrow to increase the production of the white blood cell. This production can be doubled within a few hours.
Have you had any illnesses lately?
GRA is granulocyte, they are white blood cells too.
The normal range for granulocyte percentage is 45.5 - 79.7%,
If you have a high percentage be happy!!!cheers. These help to fight an infection, again, I am wondering if you had some type of infection.
MPV stands for mean platelet volume. It is an average measure of red blood cells in a mircoliter of blood. By itself does not mean too much but can tip a doctor off that other levels of blood tests should be monitored closely for drops or rises in red blood cells.
I hope this helps some, for a more thorough evaluation, I would certainly ask your doctor or even lab tech.
Good luck to you.
