I agree with the above posts in that if you have RA it is an inflammatory disease. I have read that capsasin also possibly works topically. Also and anti-inflammatory diet is supposed to work. There is a group in Los Angeles and has a clinic called the Exsalus Heath and Wellness Center, I haven't gone all the way with the diet they propose, but it is basically cutting out all meat, fat and oils and adopting a vegan diet without the oil and so forth. It is hard to quit caffeine, alcohol and so forth that they recommend but there is a large body of evidence that this change in life style will prevent/and reverse a lot of diseases. Read it for yourself, Dr. Colin Cambell, Dr. Pulde, Lederman, Dr. McDougall and others have a lot of infoand research that is compelling. It is not a fad diet it is a lifestyle change. I am going to recommend this to my best friend how has lupus and RA and see if it helps her. BTW, gold was used as the main treatment arthritis when I was in my 20's. I don't know if they still use it because heavy metals can cause toxicity and since they have new treatments they may not. Anyway, let us know how it goes and also what you think about this dietary change. There is a website I can give you and it gives a 12 day trail to see how you feel on line for free. They also have receipes and so forth. A chat line etc.

My dad had RA. I think its most defining characteristic is noticeable deformity of joints, and, apparently, they happen quite quickly, so that should offer a pointer. But I must add that at your age most of my friends, and myself, experienced something that they (we) felt was very serious. (If that seems condescending I do apologise, it isn't meant to be, but it is true - people of your age do experience worrying things. I offer that truly in the spirit of helpfulness and, hopefully, calming - worrying and alarm do nothing positive.) I had a bad knee for about a year that actually caused me to stumble and fall sometimes. Then it just stopped.
A friend of my wife's, when we were all in our mid-twenties, got diagnosed RA, correctly, and they gave her gold injections - that was 40 years ago, so it may have been debunked by now, and I can't offer experiences as we all moved away, but it was the treatment of choice at that time. As for the cayenne pepper; do not naysay it. It has the most amazing properties and causes some stunning reactions - it can actually stop bleeding. NOHARD does not lie. You can research it, but it's so cheap that while you are researching it, buy some and mix two heaped teaspoons with half a glass of tomato juice, and drink once a day. I did it religiously for about four years, and despite a stunningly bad lifestyle, I'm still here.
Best wishes, hope it's nothing.
And in the meantime try looking up on earthclinic under arthritis, the thing to look for are glucosamine, and they say chilli powder can help, I did read this under home remedies, and you also find some help on the cayenne site, I've been on cayenne for the last year for ED but my aches and pains from arthriitis in my hand have gone.
Good Luck
Yes you can get RA and Lupus at a young age. I would go see a rheumatologist or your GP can test you for RA, and for lupus they do the RA, plus LE , complete blood count, anti-nuclear antibodies and anti-DNA test. I hope you don't have it but it is best to check it out.
