Slightly swollen neck lymph node

Hi there i have this slightly swollen(enlargened) neck node at the right side of my neck..u can barely see it unless i stretch my skin, its like a small bean, just under my jaw, i noticed it in mid october 2010...and till this day i stll have it...i also noticed a yellow small mass on my right tonsil and the back of my throat has small red bumps is this normal???, i have tried gargling salty water but there still there...the camp medic gave me some anti-biotics but nothing has changed...i work in a remote area in afghanistan and medical facilities are limited here...please advise im getting very worried and i can feel the nodes behind my ears and groin...there are not swollen i can just feel them..is this normal too??

happy new year to you too..thanx for your reply...no i have no fever and its that one node that's swollen...but i have to stretch my skin for anyone to notice it...i hav no trouble swallowing...sometimes i feel like my throat is swollen just under my adams apple , but i have been paying too much attention to it as i am now worried about this..and from the lack of proper medical facilities thats what freaking me out, maybe its anxiety but i have been feeling random needle like feelings at random points in my body......oh i removed a tonsil stone a while back, i actually thought that was the reason but weeks later my node is still the same. The yellow mass on my tonsil is still there..i tried removing it with a cotton swab just lke the tonsil stone but that didnt help...its still intact...the medic tested me for strep throat but that came negative...pls advise...any natural remedies to cure this??

It would sound to me like and infection of some kind maybe tonsilitis or maybe strep throat, are you having any other symptoms beside the things you described above are you having trouble swallowing, fever?. Usually antibiotics would get rid of it but only if it was a bacterial infection causing it.  Viral infections cannot be treated with antibiotics. If the other ones are not swollen I wouldn't worry about them.  I would though suggest going back and telling them that the antibiotics have not worked and have them due further testing on you.
