Hm well at least you know the CT is clear then.. What about stool sample? It could detect parasites... And definitely an endoscopy is in order. Maybe its time to visit a gastroenterologist instead.
Going tomorrow again to a different DR. Also had ct scan, chest X-ray, blood work, and results were nothing.
take her back to the Dr. she is probably dehydrated. she will need IV with saline. and maybe has been misdiagnosed.
I really appreciate all your responses. We ok her to a doctor and they diagnosed her with the flu about 4 weeks ago. A week later we took her to the ER and I think they did a chest X-ray, looked at her head and a bunch of other stuff I'm not too sure of. They did an ultrasound for her stomach and pelvic and we are waiting on results.
Tomorrow we are also taking her to a doctor that speaks her native language, I think she thinks she'll be able o better communicate even though she's fluent in English. Then maybe a sleep specialist because she has severe insomnia...
Won't stop till we find out what it is and can help her. I never felt this type of pain and it makes me sad she is talking like she's giving up cuz she's never been sick and oblivious to the issue. Thanks for your advice.
Don't lose hope! There are many things it could be and many things to try! For one- have they done a CT or PET scan? No matter what, I would absolutely have that done, head, neck, upper, mid, lower back and pelvis! I am NOT saying this is what it is but I feel I have an obligation to give you the info I know now.. My uncle passed away a few months ago from appendix cancer and he did go through a similar thing where he was told he had the flu for 3 months. By the time he finally went back and had lost 40 lbs, it was too late because the doctors did not catch it! They had done a laproscopic surgery to look for a reason he was throwing up but they said it looked fine. Ok now that's about the worst thing that it could be..and let me tell you, I am an advanced stage cancer survivor so if it was something that bad, theres a LOT of hope these days. Now some other possibilities- Is there anyone else in the home with her and are they feeling sick? And if so, has the heat been on? Again, I know someone else who this happened to- he was slowly getting carbon monoxide from his furnace and that is why he was sick for a few months. It will be deadly if its not fixed so its important to make sure that's not it. Now some less serious ones- she could have a food allergy or celiac disease. It can develop overnight. She could also have a parasite like salmonella or giardia. Even something like chronic migraines or a bladder infection CAN cause vomiting like this and both migraines and bladder infection can happen without other symptoms besides vomiting! There can be other infections that do this too. Anyways, I am not a doctor, and I am just a girl who has had a lot of health problems and about every test I know of.. so these are just a few of the things I can think of off the top of my head. But what I would suggest is taking your mom to the ER and demanding answers, refusing to leave until they have done a CT scan, FULL BODY (NOT MRI!!!), full blood panel, and if necessary, an endoscopy or whatever else you think of that could be a possibility. Don't give up on it or panic. Best wishes and I hope you get an answer soon!
