Sore in Mouth

I have a sore on the roof of my mouth that's right behind those "holes" (near the nasal cavaty) everyone has on the roof. The sore is bright red, small, and it looks like its white in the middle, maybe it has pus in it, I'm not sure.

It showed up when I was in English class today. I went home from school because it hurts to talk and swallow. I called my doc and she told me to watch it for a few days because she has no idea what it is. I put some deluted hydrogen peroxide on a q-tip and put the q-tip on the sore. There was another inflamation at first of more of the pus-looking stuff. Then that went away, and there's now a hole and the other sore.

I'm not a smoker and I don't drink. I am 16 years old and I have some neuro and GI problems, and I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). My dad smokes and my mom used to, so I have been exposed to second-hand smoke.

It really hurts, and so does my head and neck. I don't know what it is and I just wanna get rid of it. Any suggestions of what I should do or what this could be? Should I go to urgent care?

I went to the doctor and he put hydrogen peroxide on it. He said it looks like an infected cut. All I had to do was put some medicine cream on it for a few days, and now its gone.

Thanks for your help and advice :)

Go and get it checked out if there is pus coming out of it and it is not tosilitis, they might put you on a course of antibiotics and if it doesnt help get to an ENT or get the doctor to do a swab test to see if there is an infection. don't neglect things like this, cos I neglected my sneesing and nose that gets stuffed up occassionally and now having bad sinus problems which includes polyps and cysts and need to be operated but have to get rid of infecton. so please dont neglect if not happy go and get another opinion. Good luck keep us posted

Thanks so much :)

I went to Urgen Care, and they used a solution of hydrogen peroxide and something else (sorry, don't know what it was) and that got rid of the "pus" in the middle. Right now, it's a pink spot that hurts. They gave me anti-bacterial cream to get rid of the pain and prevent further infection until it heals. Thankfully, the mouth heals quickly :)

They said it looks like I might have had some kind of lesion in my mouth that got infectioned. The doc told me it could have been that I burned my mouth or eat something hard (candy, chip, cracker) that scratched the top. I don't have staph or anything, but they said to use a solution of water and H202 for a few days to clean anything else out. Also, I have neuro next week. The doc said to bring this up to my neuro because of the head/neck pain.

Thanks again for the help :)

I would go to urgent care and give them as much info as you can.  Tell them about being exposed to second hand smoke and about the pain in your head and neck,  Don't leave anything out.  They should take care of you and you should be okay.  Putting the hydrogen peroxide on it is a good idea.  I get these redish sores once in a while that are white in the middle a bit and they are canker sores and the hydrogen peroxide works in getting rid of them in about 3 to 5 days.
