Thank you all so much for your answers. I went back to my Doctor, who apparently said "Yes" I do have it but he didnt tell me the first time, he just put me on anti-inflammatories.... hmmm. But at least now I know that I have something and its not a mystery. Its very painful at times and I have been relieving the symptoms with ibuprofen and muscle relaxants. I read somewhere though, that this could last around 6 months or longer, and if it goes away, it could come back! Is this true?
The best advice I have received so far is on here, so thank you so much, I am very grateful.
sometimes this will not show up and is caused by implants.does not mean you have an infection..Ive seen tons of these cases on like dr 90210 or the doctors and everywhere else when it comes to surgery..do your own research on the internet..
I have costochondritis, and the symptoms can mimic a heart attack perfectly. Are the pains radiating from your sides to the front of the chest? This is classic of costochondritis.
There is no cure medically for it, but, my chiropractor helps mine, he can even tell if a rib is out of place, he/she will be able to tell pretty quickly if this is your problem.
If you are experiencing sweating, shortness of breath, dizziness, and other heart symptoms, then see a doctor ASAP.
My first thought is that you may have costochondritis.
I have it, it's an inflamation on the muscles in, on, and around your ribs and breasts bone. It can be excruciating at times. The pain can be either, cramping, burning, aching, stabbing, even tightness. And the fact that you did recently have surgery in that area, it seem to comply with my thought. Costochondritis is harmless, it wont kill you, and it does sometimes feel as if it's your heart. the pain can radiate to your shoulders and upper arms, up into your neck, and maybe give you tension headaches. I was simply prescribed advil and tylenol for the pain, check with your doctor on which one you should take as you've recently had surgery.
There is no known cure for costochondritis, but have been proved harmless. the treatment is to relieve the symptoms.
You should check with your doctor about this pain though, as I'm not a medical professional. A simple doctor's visit should be enough to figure out what it is.
However if you find yourself short of breath, in unbearable pain, lightheaded or dizzy, numbness or tingling in your arms or legs, or feel your heart racing or as if it's skipping beats, seek immediate medical help.
