Tera-Rosuvastatin and High Cholesterol

HI,
My Doctor has prescribed me tto take  Teva-rosuvastatin tablets for 3 months to help lower my cholesterol. I have heard that once you start on these type of drugs you will be on them for life. I am worried i will not be able to stop taking this pill once i start. I am only 39 years old. and dont want to be taking a pill every day for the rest of my life. Is there not a way through diet and exercise to lower cholesterol. It seems Doctors are all to quick to prescribe pills these days. PLease help.

Eat walnuts and almonds.  Drink grape juice. Eat more garlic and foods that contain fiber (vegetables and fruits). Take supplements: calcium, copper, and a good multiple vitamin.  Exercise and eat small meals all  day long.   Don't smoke and drink alcohol in moderation.  Ask your doctor about crystalline Niacin.  If you drink brewed coffee, think about switching to instant which doesn't contain cafestol and kahweol which raise cholesterol levels.  Eat avacados which raise the good HDL type of cholesterol.  - I hope this information helps you.

I personally would do alot of research before taken any medication. I don't know about Teva-rosuvastatin but just because it is prescribed by your doctor doesn't always mean it is safe. Look into hollistic meds and natural ways to lower your cholesterol first but definitley keep a close eye on it to make sure your cholesterol is getting lower.
