Terrible Stomach Pains

Hi everyone, here's my problem. Since last Wednesday I've been getting stomach pains that can be from Mild to extreme in pain, I had constipation but the laxatives finally caught up with me and that is no longer an issue, but going to the toilet provides only temporary relief, and whenever I eat food the pain comes back. I can't focus in school, I roll around in my bed when it's really bad. I just want to know what's wrong with me. The last thing I ate was KFC before this pain started, and I've been drinking nothing but water since last Wednesday and have only eaten really small amounts of food. I just want things to go back to normal.

Wow, thanks for the advice, Lolo. I'm sorry to hear of your suffering, the constipation is no longer an issue, I've been drinking nothing but water, and lots of it, I've been eating a little bit and slowly starting to eat normal amounts again, and my stomach is feeling much better, despite some very minor stomach pains,  but that should pass over. By monday I should be feeling brand new, if not, I'll be sure to let you guys know.

Cheers

I am sorry to hear of your discomfort.  When you took the laxatives how long did it take before you had a BM?  Are you able to pass gas? If you can't pass gas that could be the problem.  You stated after you eat the discomfort comes back.  Sounds to me like you are still backed up, which can put pressure on the lower part of your abdomen making you very uncomfortable to say the least.  I would not use laxatives as they can cause you more cramping and are only a temporary fix.  You should try Milk of Magnesia instead.  Also, to keep the bowel moving you should get some Miralax and try to consume that on a daily basis until you get relief.

The last thing you want to be doing is not drinking- That will only slow your digestive tract down.  You should be drinking a lot of fluids to help things move along.  I would stay away from carbonated beverages, and caffiene until your tummy starts to feel better.

If you are unable to pass gas, or your stomach is distended right below your rib cage you could have a blockage?  I have had a lot of stomach problems through out my life.  So, I feel your pain. I had to have a partial colon resection from years of severe constipation, my colon expanded and twisted and I was miserable.

I hope this helps and you feel better soon...

I see, well my parents insist that it will pass over, I'll try and get my parents to take me to the doctors. Hopefully it's nothing to serious.

Thanks

I'm sure it is nothing serious but whenever you have any kind of pain and it lasts for a week, it is a good idea to get checked out by a doctor.   You are not eating and drinking very much and this could make the situation worse.  You don't want to get dehydrated so give the doc a call.  Or if you are in college, go to the health center.

Hope you feel better soon.
