Vaginal itching & burning

I'm 35 & for the last 2-3 months I've been experiencing vaginal itching & burning.  It happens for about 2 weeks out of the month, then just as suddenly as it starts, it stops. My gyno did a swab at a time when I was irritated & she said there was no infection.  Something is going on and it is driving me crazy!!! I don't have sex with my husband during the time on irritation because it becomes uncomfortable. I have stopped using soap in that area & use the vaginal feminine washes instead, I don't wear tight clothes, & most nights, sleep with no underwear on to let it breathe, I don't spray body spray directly on the vagina, by the end of the day, there is a slight odor, but easily goes away when I shower.  What did my Dr. miss?  What is this and how do I treat  it?  Please help!

Allergy related, check out what the material your underwear is made from, read the label, keep only cotton next to your skin especially sensitive areas, use a free and clear detergent on your under wear...one othe thing what bathroom tissue are you using, we all wipe ..yes.. make sure the paper is free of any perfumes and additives..

It almost sounds like it could have something to do with ovulation cycle.  I think I would get a second opinion from a different doctor.
