What does a low anion gap mean?
Today I had some blood work done and my anion gap came back low (7.5 with a reference range of 10-20). This past October I had the same tests done and my anion gap was 16 with the same reference range. In my opinion that was a pretty big drop in 6 months. Everything else was pretty much normal except for a low sodium, high alkaline phosphatase, low ALT, low AST, and high MPV. I was just wondering if anyone knew what this might mean. Thanks in advance.
