When do you go to the doctor?

How severe does your problem have to be to go to the doctor?

I've had constant short breath and chest pain for over a month now... I'm 15 and I already got my vitals checked in the ER 3 weeks ago, and they were perfect so i doubt it could be a serious problem. It hasn't really gotten better though... The pain is usually when I am frequently bending my upper body around. It's dull and is right over my heart, though sometimes I get more of a stabbing lower and to one side under my ribs. If I run as fast as I can for a minute and really get my breathing up, it can turn into a pretty severe pain that radiates over the whole area of my chest but is stronger over my heart.

my mom tells me she will make me an appointment but she keeps procrastinating. Then I think to myself, "is it even bad enough to go anyway?" "it's anoying but its not like my life is in direct danger." so I end up not pushing her to take me. I just figure whatever we end up doing, it doesn't matter.

The short breath isn't bad, but it's consistent. I'm always yawning or taking deep, unsatisfying breaths. If I'm excersising it does get worse, though I am still able to get plenty of air. It's not labored, it's just the feeling of needing to gasp air in or yawn all the time...

So what would you guys do? I'm 15 and I have good insurance. Doctors make me extremely nervous though, so it's not like I want to go...

Oh yea and I forgot to mention I have had TONs of stress on me lately for a long time. Could it be as simple as that? Or as simple as a pulled chest muscle?

Please be realistic with your answers. I know that I "should" go... But do you think it's serious enough that I have to go?
