Whole body itching

My whole body is itching for the last 3 days. I haven't changed any soaps or anything.. But I ate some hot dogs for 2 days and that when the itching started it could be from that or something else idk but it's absolutely driving me crazy I can't stop itching I can't sleep cause every time I lay down I got itch.. I used lotion thought it was dry skin but still itching.. What can cause your whole body to itch like crazy?  Thanks

You didn't say that you were taking any medications and when you started to take it.  As you will know, Rozerm is a medication for adults that have trouble falling asleep.  With these types of medications it is important not to drink any alcohol.

As you have had a reaction to this medication, do keep a note of this so that you can inform your doctor that you are allergic to this medication.

The information to patients with regard to this medication is that you are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA. Visit www.fda.gov/medwatch or call 1-800-FDA-1088

To help you to drop off to sleep, don't drink any caffeine drinks in the evenings.  These are coffee, tea, fizzy drinks containing caffeine.  Herbal teas like camomile will be fine and relaxing.

Have a warm bath and relax. Lavender is very relaxing, you could have a bath with a few drops of lavender.

Don't watch films that are full of action and horror movies, these will just hype you up.  And avoid playing action packed video games as these too will get you hyped up with excitement.  The only good type of excitement that may help you to sleep is to have a cuddle (and the rest) with your partner.

If you are not able to drop off to sleep with tossing and turning, get up and do some boring tasks.  I find that if the temperature in the room is too warm, I am not able to sleep and begin to itch.

If you have a lot of anxiety and stress issues, then these will be going through your mind making it difficult to drop off to sleep.  Discuss your issues with a friend that you trust or a counsellor, or write down your problems to get them off your mind.

Try not to worry too much about getting your sleep.  The more you worry and the more you get overtired, the harder it will for you to drop off.  Try and get into a good routine.

Best wishes.

It still sounds like an allergy or reaction to a  medication to me. If you had scabies you would have a pimple  like rash, scales or blisters, track lines on the skin. But a allergy can be serious too. Scratching it can lead to an infection. Best to try to see a dermatologist or other doctor to try to figure out what is going on. I had a bad allergy to a steroid and creams helped me too even though it was severe.  I needed help and it is time for you to find out what is going on.
take care,

If your body feels hot as well as having the terrible itching, your body is definitely fighting a foreign body.  This could be a bacterial infection, the things that mkh9 mentioned and also  you have scabies.

It could be that your body is having an allergic to the hot dogs and hat was on them when you had them.

It may be a good idea to see your doctor in case it is a bacterial infection.  The doctor will also be able to confirm if you have scabies.

You may benefit from  antihistamine tablets as well as something like a calomine based lotion to soothe the itching.  Try not to scratch, easier said than done, I know.  Scratching can damage the skin and any breaks will cause bacteria to enter.

Best wishes.

Do you have any hives or rash? Have you gone hiking and maybe brushed against a plant you may be allergic too. It sounds much like an allergy to something. If you can take benedryl at night.  It will help with the sleeping and the itching. Cortisone topical may help but be sure to not get it in your eyes or on your face.  Have you changed your laundry detergent? There must be something new. If not it is from a plant or a new shirt or something like that. A new perfume, makeup. New medicine?
