Wisdom Tooth Ulcer Treatment

Hello,
I have had an ulcer on my wisdom tooth gum that has grown over the tooth and is causing me extreme discomfort.  My dentist prescribed my Doxycycline 100mg and Percocet 5/325 to combat the pain.  It has been over a week now and the problem has not been alleviated.  I feel awkward asking my doctor for a slightly stronger pain medication considering the taboo surrounding a question such as that.  I don't feel awkward asking for additional antibiotics.  I have to cope until I can afford the wisdom extraction procedure/gum laser procedure.  Anyways, getting back to the pain management or this...say i did ask my dentist and she agreed, would the pharmacy flag me for having multiple prescriptions of this drug?  Or does it not matter since it would be a higher dose.  I'm an anxious person so this worries me.  I'm lost and uncomfortable about all this.
