did it work are you better. Please reply I took this drug Need help
I have had problems in the past from cipro and levaquin.the doctor prescribed them for bronchitis along with predinisone which is a no-no(so i've read)I never knew four years ago that bad things could come from using this medicine.without my knowledge they used these medicines for emergency purposes(I had respiratory failure)in july and now my lungs have recovered but my body is numb, weak and tingly plus I have sore throats.I have been tested for everything all came out negative rheumatologist says possible fibromyalgia but no inflamation is showing up.At one point my pulmonologist said it was from all the medications used to treat me,if this is true I wonder how long I am going to be this way,I hope not forever, the pain especially in my knees at night is terrible and i can't sleep.I constantly feel like I have a virus,I even had hep tests and hiv tests and both were negative too.I am just wondering if it's all related to the levaquin/cipro and predinisone?did you ever fully recover?
I am a 37 year old female. I also have side effects the same as yours. It has been about 2 months since the last day of a 10 day dosage of 500 mg. The more active the worse it gets. Be really careful because you could easily tear a tendon. Most often the achilles. My doctor said his uncle, retired neurosergeon, researched because he had the same reaction. He went in a hyperbaric chamber 5 times. He is back to normal. I'm going to do this since there is nothing else that works. I'm not sure yet if it is covered under insurance. I hope this will help.
The next time you are prescribed Levaquin the drill is not to "tell the physician you have had problems". The drill is to REFUSE the levaquin. The second part of the drill is to go to the FDA site on the internet and submit a written adverse drug effect report. Just telephoning your physician about the problems is not sufficient. You need to write a letter and send it certified mail. Pain in the joints and elsewhere are common side effects of Levaquin. Most times this wears off (the good news), but there are instances of long-term damage from this particular antibiotic (that's the bad news). Statistics are on your side.
Sounds like the side effects of the levaquin; if the symptoms have not subsided
notify your physician asap. Also, if any physician decides in the future to prescribe that drug for you again do tell what has happened when you have taken it in the past.
yes i am finished with the levaquin and no other meds
Are you finished taking the levaquin and when did you finish? Taking any other medications at this time?
