You can pour hydrogen peroxide over it. Don't use anything to apply it, because the tissue can be very sensitive. If it feels like it burns, don't do it again, because that's not helping. Flush like this with plain water if that happens. Do not repeat too many times during the day either, because the skin is sensitive there.

Hey there....FUNNY question...DID YOU HAVE IT PIERCED?
If NOT.... is it an inny or an outy? Each of those have their own unique quirks....Innys can get a collection of lint, bacteria and things get in there and if not cleaned well can cause a toe jam type smelly stuff, anyway, if that collects long enough and added to that are all the skin cells that die everyday..a perfect breeding ground for bacteria to grow, then some kind of injury that created a SMALL break in the skin;....a fingernail scratch in the night..tiny scratch...opening causes entry to underskin and the bacteria just have a hayday, the pus is actually your white cells attacking and killing the bacteria and what is left over from that action.....If it is an outy,... buttons or any material rubbing, belts, or is it just a Bigger pea sized held on by a thread..in which if you mishandle it slightly it would need support( like a bandaid)...Kinda like shaving an area with a mole. Our belly buttons are the place we became disconnected from another person...I'm not so sure of anything else it might do, just now, I got the image of a ball and the hole there to fill it with air ...Anyway...Is it sore,? is it red anywhere? Have you had any fevers? Just a few thoughts and you know if it gets red or fever....head to the dr as infections can get out of hand quickly...How long these symptoms and finally...this came to be after I signed and then reread what I wrote...You know how there is a VERY CENTRAL part of the button that resembles a star..It is actually where the cut was made......is it from the very center where it comes from....PS DO NOT SQUEEZE IT to get the pus out AS THAT CAN backfire, put it into your blood stream which causes other senerios!!!! ...Keep us posted....GOD BLESS!!! loimmarmar
