burning a wound to make it heal once and for all?

hi, I had surgery about a year ago for a pilonidal cyst. Everything apparently went fine, but suddenly about some 6 months now , even though in the beginning the wound closed by itself naturally it reopened again and I've been like this for about this time (6 months as I said). I cannot do anything because anything I do just hurts me. I can't play sports like I used to, I can't sit well without making it hurt. My surgeon told this was (practically) a lie because I wasn't supposed to feel pain in that area because I don't sit with my butt I sit with my legs. I told him it hurt even if he didn't believe me... I've tried antibiotics and triple antibiotic cream and clean everytime...but i'm tired of trying new things and I want this to stop. He told me that the cyst wasn't back (the surgeon) that it ws just the scar reopening. He also told me that the hair growing in the area (coccix area) can make it worse. I was thinking...is there some kind of treatment that can burn dry the wound and leave no hair in that area? like laser burning or something like that? When I was small I had a wart that was burned away with laser. Can I do that ? is it medically possible? is it worth trying to get rid of it once and for all?

Cauterization has been used to seal wounds for thousands of years. There are many questions that arise regarding the nature of this wound, however. I am not satisfied with the explanation you have been given. I would suggest you obtain another opinion from a different M.D.

Have you checked out the Dermatology forum; there is lots of discussion about these cysts?  I would be seeking a second opinion.  Why pay someone to insult your intellegence?  A person's knows if they are having pain whether it is typical for that condition, disease, etc.

All the best.

thank you both... I talked to my uncle who is an internist and he told me to look for a second opinion. I think that's what I'm going to do...
