cysts on inner thighs?

I started getting a cyst on my inner thigh after putting on about 25lbs a year ago. My doctor said it was a carbuncle and just drained it. After that they started spreading down my upper thigh. There are now about 4 seperate cysts on my inner thigh. I noticed that they get inflamed when I walk for a long period of time.

The odd thing is that the hair around the cysts falls out and doesn't come back. Is that a symptom of something other than a cyst?

I have dealt with these annoying and sometimes very painful cysts myself. They are on my bikini line, my upper arm, and my tailbone. I have had all but one lanced and drained and also had some removed surgically, which is H-E-L-L. There is a core that is black in the very bottom of these things and whether they are surgically removed or just burst on their own, they are destined to come back. It is a lose/lose situation, I suppose.Also, it is insisted that these heal from the inside out. When having them removed, they packed the one on my tailbone and I will never ever go thru that again. And yes, that one is a returning one that has gone from filling and lying dorment for 24 yrs.  I am just glad to hear it is not only me whom suffers with these things that definately interfere with my job as a server! Since I have been to so many Dr.s for the last 24 years, to no avail, I just grin and bear them with a huge band aid on the area until it subsides. I also swear by 'Preperation H' to help take the swelling down. It works for hemeroids, right?
I have had these things since I was 17 and I have been very thin and I have been heavy. It made no difference in my situation, though we are all different.
Good luck and keep us posted on what YOUR  Dr. calls these things. I am seeing so many other names for these cysts. I was also told 'a boil' with my very 1st one. WRONG! Big difference in a boil and a cyst.
