do i have an infection?

Hello I am 25 and was pretty healthy but my health has deteriorated these past two weeks. The only thibg I can think of is I was tired and stupid and left a wet band aid on over my lumbar puncture wound. I ran low grade fevees for 3. Days. Now my temperature is lower than normal 96.5-98.5. I have chills, feet sweatinf, excessive dry mouth, and have been having cold sweats since last night. I also have a bad cough and lower hip/leg pains. Negative head MRI besides sinus inf and negative chest x ray. Any ideas?

Technically a fever under 100.3 isn't considered treatable. If you have been diagnosed with a sinus infection you should be on an antibiotic. Sinus infections traditionally were treated for 21 days with a n antibiotic, however, recent trends in medicine have changed to a 7 or 10 day treatment. If you have finished your antibiotic and are still having symptoms you should followup with your MD. The wet bandaid over your lumbar puncture site is a different issue. That wound is gives direct access to your CNS and cerebral spinal fluid. If it is infact infected it can be serious. Some signs and symptoms are redness or warmth at the site, puss or drainage coming from the site, or increased soreness. If any of these symptoms are present you should call your MD. If you cannot reach him or her, go to an urgent care or an emergancy room. And ALWAYS if you have trouble breathing call 911. I am not trying to scare you. Your symptoms are all over the place, meaning multiple system involvement. You should at the very least see your MD. I hope you feel better soon.

Sinus infections can make you pretty sick. Did'nt your Dr recommend an antibiotic for the infection? Did they do any blood work? That would show if you did indeed have an infection.
