Hello- my daughter got head lice at school, and it was really hard to get rid of until I found out about the robi-comb. It is an electronic lice comb that zaps the little boogers and kills them instantly on contact, and it gets even the tiniest ones. It doesn't kill the eggs, but if you use it for a couple of weeks you will be lice free, and without all of those crazy chemicals. It was a lifesaver, and I got it at CVS for about $40. Well worth it and perfect for treating your own head!  Good Luck!

If you are a male, shave your head and shampoo with NIX or RID, get new bedding, vacuum and shampoo your mattresses, furniture, and carpet -- try to identify from whom you got the lice and stay away from them.

the drier works just fine. i suggest you buy head and shoulders shampoo.. it kills fleas and lice fyi... also do the regular rid two week follow up .  .  . my kids have had lice and i never have a problem killing them. the rid spray works really good too. just spray and bag for a few days

You must wash everything and retreat after about a week to make sure eggs are gone. comb them out with a fine comb. Their is spray you can buy to treat your furniture if you have pets get pet friendly products.

If you can afford new pillows yes buy new ones I would they will come back because of the un hatched eggs. I have had five children believe me I would know.

obviously u need to wash and clean any combs, bedding etc BUT AS YOUR YOUR HAIR
2 things;, becca gave u easy way to go
a 2nd 20 minutes under a blow dryer med hot , or a hot comb which is basically the same just has a comb end for the warm air to go thru and  u can kill them off.
. now if u live in a dry climate this is very easy because lice need moisture to live

AS TO the junk on the shelf in the drug store, these r nasty , harmful and not needed
ALSO u need to figure out where u got it, just like a mom has to find out if it is her child passing it to others or getting from someone

good luck

The stuff at the store is not junk it works. Rid works  great!!!! a hot blow dryer does not get rid of lice. I have worked in the medical field for twenty years plus seen many people with lice and have five children all had lice at one point or another. You must get some medication or they will get worse and keep coming back. A hot blow dryer alone does not work. You have to comb your hair with  a fine tooth comb to get the eggs out after AFTER you use the RID, Wash all bedding in HOT water and DRY on HIGH heat. I would not use the same pillows. They usually come back after a week. The medication has to be used carefully especially if you have pets. There is a spray to use on the furniture look for it in the store and spray chairs mattresses and carpets you may need two cans. Make sure pets are not in the room for at least 24 hours or look for pet friendly methods. There is alot of information on the web if you type in lice and how to get rid of them alone. Another suggestion they are close to hot areas on the head and neck make sure to shampoo with the medication well in those areas. Then use it again as directed. Good luck to you.

The zapper comb is useless and you will waste fourty dollars. it does not kill the eggs nor the ones in the bed carpets furniture etc. LIce crawl not jump.
