feet and legs hurt

feet and legs hurt

About 2 years ago I bruised my feet real badly.  I spent a few days helping someone move.   I only had on some very flimsy sandals and it was concrete floors.  The last day I noticed my feet hurt very badly.  I was limping by the time I got home that last day. It continued for a few weeks.  This winter I have noticed that my toes and bottom of feet get very cold and hurt a lot.  I can put them in warm water and rub with lotion and it gradually stops..   They didn't hurt at all in the summer.   Now it sems like the pain is just gradually making it way up my legs.  My legs bother me in the night.  The pain is not real bad but just enough to annoy me.   I'm getting a little concerned.   I'm very cold natured and always have been.  They didn't hurt in the summer at all.  I'm 65 years old and my feet have always gotten cold but nothing like this.  My apt is very poorly insulated and the carpet even feels cold in this bitter cold weather.

It was very dumb of me to wear those sandals I know.  I have paid dearly for it.  Is it possible that arthritis set in.  I've had mild pain from arthritis in my hands and back but nothing like this in my feet.   Guess I should go to the doctor but I don't know what they could do except give pain med.  I do take lipitor and have concern that it could be contributing to it.   I think I will stop it for a few days.  I took Zocor for a while and had to stop because of muscle cramps in legs.  Now I've been on lipitor 10mg for a few years.  One time the doctor increased the dosage to 20mg and my wrists cramped so she put me back on 10mg.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Lipitor could very well be causing the problems your having.
Your feet injuries happened over two years ago but with wearing those kinds of shoes and the work you were doing, you could have damaged the tendons. I'm not a Dr so I can't say for sure.
The best thin to do is see your Dr about what's going on. He may recommend changing your meds again, and or seeing a Podiatrist.

it could be the meds. im not a dr. nor am i even an rn but i am in school for health care and previously know a lot about health. since you wore the sandals your feeet could have been "hybernating" or keeping themselveswarm until the cold kicks in. if you have arthritis in your hands. it could starting in your feet too. remember. limbs. those are your "ends" go to the dr. for your age its very important you get it checked.

This is a good thing to bring up to your doctor. When you go to the doctor ask him/her about the possibility of Raynaud's disease from what little I have read the symtoms (symptoms) seem similar to me.  Check it out with your doctor.
Good luck and stay warm.  Sharon

I stopped the lipitor 3 days ago and the pain in my legs has stopped and feet are some better.    I go to the dr. soon so I will tell her.   I have stopped the lipitor before for a few days and gotten back to normal.

Thanks to all
