Hello the green in the stools is most likely from bile or something you have eaten or drank-like green kool-aid or green jello etc.  The burning is because your electrolytes are off in your body and with diarrhea you get what is called Metabolic Acidosis.  The acid is what causes the burning.  It sounds like you have gotten a virus of some sort and it should subside in 24-48 hours.  Your stool should return to normal consistency and color after that time too.

Generally with just diarrhea and no vomiting they recommend letting it run it's course and dehydration from it is very rare.  The electrolytes following diarrhea will generally correct themselves after it ends.

If the symptoms last longer than 48 hours or you start vomiting along with it you  need to see your doctor.

I recommend you drinking plenty of water or you can get some Gatorade or pedialyte from the baby section of the grocery or pharmacy (I personally do NOT like the fruit flavored)  to help regulate your electrolytes faster and help with the burning. Eat or drink items easy on your digestive tract like clear liquids- popciles, jello, koolaid, beef or chicken bullion,  dry toast, bananas, white rice, or applesauce.  You can get some Lomotil OTC at any pharmacy and take as prescribed to stop the diarrhea if needed.

Remember what ever color of Gatorade, jello, popsicle etc.  you choose your diarrhea may turn that color too.

I Hope This Helps

diarrhea of any kind, especially for an extended period of time can dehydrate you. make sure you drink as much water as possible, especially if its continuing because your body is most likely trying to get something bad out of it. excessive liquid intake will help it along. the more you have in you, the more your body can push out whatever its not liking. the most common causes of green stool are food coloring and excess fiber, but it does depend on what kind of green youre talking about. if its very slimy and not like normal diarrhea, its most likey bile, stomach acids, etc. if its an acceptable consistency, looks like youd expect it to, and just tinted, its most likely fiber or food colorings. if youre not having any other symptoms than the stomach and stool problems, i would think its some kind of food poisoning or bad reaction to food. if you ate anything old or out of the ordinary or fast food from an unclean establishment that may be the cause of your problem. just stay well hydrated and it should pass. if it doesnt or gets worse, go see your dr.

Thanks to both. It did subside with in 48 hours.  I didn't recall eating anything green so the bile thing does make sense. I've been sick like this every time I go back Home. I am a college student. The usual symptoms are sharp stomach pains and unbearable diarrhea and sometimes throwing up but only lasts a full day or two. this has been happening for about 4 weekends. nothing comforts it but what usually makes it go thru faster is tums but the pains are more stronger. I give the stomach pains an honest 7 out of 10 . 10 being bad.
