hand infection

Hi, I need some help, and advice regarding a hand infection that I've been suffering from for over a week, now.

I did manage to see a doctor about it, and it's apparently "bilateral metacapal cellulitas and dryness". I'm currently taking keflex 500mg (40x), for it- along with using plenty of aveeno lotion for it.

However, there now appears to be some black, darkish color that is starting to spread along my lower finger joints (the ones that are closest to the hand). The darkish color was only on one finger, at the time I saw the doctor- it's now almost on every lower finger joint on my left hand, now. (My right hand lower finger joints sometimes appear slightly redish, but they're usually dry most of th time).

Is this "darkish color" mold, dead tissue, or anything else I need to be concerned with? How is this condition normally treated? I'm extremely worried about suffering permanent finger joint damages, and also scared that I might have to get my fingers amputated if this condition worsens. Please, help. Thanks.

Well, it could be nothing or it could be something that could cause you to lose your hand. You need to go to an ER immediately. This is a few days after your post, and I hope it didn't get any worse.

My hand's a lot better, thanks. I think it was just a reaction to the keflex (probably dead skin tissue).
