hcg levels not doubling at 7 weeks

hcg levels not doubling at 7 weeks

Hi -
My midwife ordered hcg levels and progesterone levels due to some low back cramping and a history of 2 miscarriages. My labs were as follows:
at 6w0d  20,000
at 6w5d hcg 75,000, progesterone 21
at 7w1d hcg 116,000

My concern is with the last reading. It was 72 hours later but didn't get close to doubling. The midwife who gave me the results today was not familiar with me and just said that 116,000 was a good number for early pregnancy, not comparing it to the previous level.
Should i be concerned about this? I've never had to do hcg's before as both of my pregnancy losses were determined on my first pre-natal appointments in the 8th week.

thanks for your help.

I wish I could help you with this question but they did'nt even have this test years ago when I had my daughter.
We have a wonderful pregnancy forum here and I know they will be able to answer you if you post your question there.
Things do look good since your levels are going up and not down. Take care. Remar
