Sometimes getting a hot face can simply be from our reaction to a situation, like embarrassment or anything that may excite us.

As your profile says that you are 43 years of age, your hot face may be connected to hormonal changes and you are on the start of the change of life. The red face in this case is referred to as "flushes"

Other causes for a hot face and especially if it is also red could be a condition called Rosacea.

Your doctor can take blood tests to confirm whether or not you having hormonal changes.   He will also be able to examine the face on your skin and establish whether this is Rosacea.  Rosacea can flare up due to triggers.  This could be from the cold, being in the sun, certain foods.  If you notice that your face is triggered off by these things, you need to try and avoid them or limit your time exposed to the elements.  When going out, use a sun block to protect your face.

Your doctor will be able to identify if it is Rosacea and will be able to offer some specific creams to treat this.

Where you in the sun more than normal?

Have you been overly anxious, sometimes anxiety can cause it.

It could also be the start of peri-menopause, or maybe the start of a cold.

I do not think it is serious, but, next time you see your doctor, why not ask him/her.
