knee bone sticking out

I have a bone on  my knee that's sticking out, it doesn't bother me unless I walk over 2 miles which I do about 2 or 3 times a week and then my knee and leg really hurt. What do you think it is?

My legs are beginning to look a little scrawny, too, like they are wasting away. I'm going to call a doctor.

I have some knee/leg problems, too. I have some grinding in my left and right knees and now there is small bone protuding beneath my kneecap on my right leg. I thought it was osteoarthritis or something like that.

Now, I don't know.
