missed period on pill

i've been in cilest for about a year and 5 months. i've missed my first period while on the pill. my boyfriend wears condoms however while taking my last packet, we didn't not to use condom since i'm on birth control but we have been using condoms since.
i've read its normal to miss a period on the pill, is it?

you might want to get checked anyways b/c if you have been taking the pill that long and haven't missed a period before and now you did something might be up. most of the time when you are on the pill and you skip your period its b/c you just started on the pill and your body is getting use to it.

both birth control and condoms are not 100% fool-proof.  i'd suggest taking a home pregnancy test; get ept or one of the ones that read as much as 6 days BEFORE the missed period.  if it's negative, get to a doctor.  they'll give you a more accurate test, and tell you what may have happened - to my knowledge, it's very uncommon to miss a period on the pill, especially since you've been on it so long.

If you have been taking Cilest for this long it will be dictating your periods by now and unless you have run yor packs together you should have a period during your 7 pill free days. However.....if you have unprotected sex within the 7 days, there is a chance that you may have conceived. Either way, confirm if you are pregnant and see your doctor as it may be time for a change of pill.
