if someone has been diagnosed of pernicious anaemia and has been placed on monthly vitamin B12 injections is there any hope that that at one time the problem will be corrected and they will be able to stop these injections

If you are diagnosed with autoimmune pernicious anaemia then you will need to supplement with vitamin B12 for life. I have autoimmune pernicious anaemia and use 2000mcg of sublingual (under the tongue) B12 spray daily with excellent results.  I was told by my doctor and specialist i needed B12 injections for life however i have proven both doctors wrong.  I have used sublingual spray for 2 years and my levels are better than optimal!

hello matshabalalala, i have been diagnosed with perniciuos anaemia and i have been told I would need the injections for life. I think its because the body cannot produce enough itself so boosters are needed every month-3 months. I had to have a course of b12 injections every 2 days for 3 weeks when I was first diagnosed. Unfortunately there is not as much awareness out there about this condition, i have gone through hell with it and still am. I hope you feel ok and are coping with it as its taken over my life. Keep well x
