pulsating enlarged temporal vein/artery

pulsating enlarged temporal vein/artery

I have a large temporal vein/artery, that runs from my ear upward, that has started to enlarge when I exert myself--such as when gardening, housework, ect. I can definitely feel a pulse in it. Recently it was enlarged and I had a pain running into my jaw. Since I had a dental appointment that day I mentioned it to my dentist and he said that it was caused by TMJ from a swollen muscle behind the vein and nothing to worry about.  I have noticed that since then I have a very slight pain in it when it is enlarged, but the dentist insisted that veins have no feeling in them so not to worry.

I am a 69 year old female who has dealt with atrial fibrillation for about 40 years and takes warfarin and digitallis along with blood pressure and cholesterol meds. Do you feel that this is something that I should make a special appointment with my doctor to examine?
