My daughter is 22 years old. She has been married for just over a year, and has had a very stressful life, her father having narcissistic personality disorder. I think she may have a mild case of turrets syndrome, as she has many subtle tics. Recently, her husband was found to be looking at porn on the internet and is supposedly “addicted.” They are having money problems over a house that they can’t sell, so this poor girl has a lot of stress in her life. I told her to get counseling before she got married so as not to bring problems to the marriage, but she didn’t listen. She went to counseling for a while, but we ran out of money and had to stop.

Now, she is having some kind of very strange problem in her sleep. Twice now, when her husband got up for work in the morning (she always gets up with him), he has found her with her eyes rolling back in her head, her back arched and her body “stiff like a board,” not breathing well, if at all, and spitting mucus. This last occurrence lasted about ten to fifteen (as he put it, closer to fifteen) minutes, and she would not wake up to anything, not even cold water being dripped on her face. This is strange for a woman who wakes very easily in most instances. I don’t understand why he doesn’t call 911; one of these times, she could possibly die. He does say she isn’t breathing.

Does anyone have any ideas? I can’t find anything at all about it on the net, nor can I get her to go to the doctor.

Sounds like seizures to me.  But, I'm not certain.
