thank you all. the stuff has since left me. I believe that i was "sweating" out the stuff? its odd. i seem to sweat out after being sick as i get older. just havent been sick like that in a while. upper resp crap was what it was, plus an ear impaction.
Augmentin is a combination antibiotic, and is sometimes prescribed against amoxicillin-resistant bacteria (certain types.)
For myself, I took augmentin when I was younger w/no problems. Things changed however...the last 2 times I tried to take prescribed augmentin, I became violently ill.
Now, that being said, I don't know why you are having sweating and hot flashes. Are you nauseous?
If this continues, I would call your doctor and report what is going on. Good luck.
The recommendation for Zithromax is inappropriate. There is no such thing as a "stronger": antibiotic. That is nonsense. There are only antibiotics that affect the replication of different species of bacteria. In the case of tb, for example, there are 16,000 varients of the bacteria. There are bacteria that are anaerobic and those that are not. There gram positive and gram negative. As for the side effects file a drug reaction form at the FDA site. There are many different reactions to what are similar antibiotics. For example many people tolerate Cipro, a fluoroqinalone and cannot tolerate Levaquin, a similarly structed antibiotic.
Hi J..may I ask what they gave you augmentin for ? If it was for the winter upper resporitory crap that was going around then maybe it wasn't strong enough. Augmentin is a pretty broad spectrum anti. Maybe ask for Zpack (zithromycin).
The trouble with antibiotics are doctors over prescribe this crap and becomes ineffective as the bugs become resistant.
Good luck
