If the problem you are having is your spleen then you need to get to a doctor right away. If it were your spleen that doesn't explain the diarrhea. How long has the pain and diarrhea been going on for. I was attempting to look this up for you but what I kept finding is that there are so many different possibilities it would be impossible to diagnose.

So here is what I reccomend, at the top of this page there is a tab that says forums. Next you will see an opition for doctor forums. Find the appropriate forum and post your question there. Post as much information as you can think of about what your experiencing and a doctor will answer your question. Usually with in a day. This should help you make a better judgment call on weather you need to be seen or not. I wish the best for you. i hope this helps.

Thank you I was having severe pain in my left side under my rib cage and very bad diahrrea but now the pain is a little better and I just feel sick to my stomach and the pain is not as bad I can't afford a doctor right now and I'm hoping this is something that will take care of it's self. Do you know if there is something I can do for myself that may help if it is the spleen?

It is very rare that the spleen will go bad. It is a pretty unique organ in the fact that it hase the ability to triple in size if need be to hold more blood. Portal hypertension is usually the cause for this. As the spleen gets larger and larger you may experience somewhat sharp shooting pain on your left side all the way to you shoulder. If your spleen were to be bad you would be experiencing a large amount of severe pain and have to be hospitalized. If you would like to post what symptoms you have been having I will do my best to further help you out.

I did a google search, and here is some info I found on it. I would do a google search yourself too, there is a lot of info that might help, also, you should ask your doctor.

Abdominal Pain
Localized pain, or pain that is focused on one region of the body, is more serious than all-over pain. This is because localized pain usually means that a specific organ has been traumatized, which can be very serious or even deadly. The most prominent symptom of spleen damage is upper left abdominal pain under the ribcage or upper stomach pain. The area around the upper left abdomen can also feel tender, and the area surrounding the spleen will often be bruised.

Back Pain
Localized back pain is also a sign that something may be wrong with the spleen. Pain or swelling on the lefthand side of your lower back can be due to possible splenic rupture. This area can also be bruised and tender to the touch. In some cases, shoulder pain can also occur on the left side due to spleen damage. Back pain is common in many people, but if a person is experiencing the pain in these specific areas and he received an injury on the left side of the body, splenic rupture may be present.

Chest Pain
Chest and shoulder pain on the left side of the body is often associated with heart attack; however, chest pain due to splenic rupture can also occur in these areas. Oftentimes, bruising will occur over the area of the spleen, and the area will hurt when touched. In some cases, patients with splenic rupture have experienced breathing difficulty due to stress on the lungs from an injury to the ribcage.

Low Blood Pressure
The spleen helps produce both red and white blood cells. When the spleen is ruptured, large quantities of blood can spill into the abdominal cavity. Not only does this internal bleeding cause the symptoms mentioned above, but it can also cause symptoms of high blood pressure. These symptoms include but are not limited to dizziness, fainting, fatigue or confusion. Oftentimes, vision can become blurred, and nausea and vomiting can occur.
