swollen and extremely painful arm pit

I had a double mastectomy 10 weeks ago with 2 lymph nodes removed (neg).  i developed overnight pain in the lymph node removal arm - like a burning pain around the incision area, mostly below and moving forward to front of chest a bit. the swelling is about 4 inches long by 1 1/2 inches high, a little bit  red, and very painfu i developed a fever that day (low grade for 48 or so hours) which may not be related.  i started cipro, but swelling has increased and so has pain.  the swelling goes down alot over night, and the pain lessens a bit.  the surgeon tried to drain fluid with a needle (just in his office) but did not get fluid.  i was sent home to put heat on it, take anti-inflamatories, and pain meds and return in one week. The pain is only manageable with pain meds.   Up until now, I have had a super recovery, I have been working out daily, and the only thing I added the night before this happened was swimming (about 12 minutes) but it was difficult to swim due to pain if I reached out with that arm.  By the next morning, I thought I over did it, by that afternoon I had the fever, and the pain became pretty awful.

Maybe it is infected I would go to the dr. and show him.
