the doctore prescribed me methylergonovine to help move along my miscarriage it says it helps to stop bleedignbut im not bleeding she told me it does the opposite too can one pill do two very opposite things and how will it stop my bleeding once i start i havent started it yet i want to know cause im a fraidy cat when it comes to pills so please somene help me soon

Your physician needs an old fashioned spanking. I have a low opinion of physicians who prescribe medications without providing full information to their patients. At the drug store where you had the prescription filled ask for the PACKAGE INSERT describing what the medication is and what it does. The drug store may try to provide you with a shrtened abreviated version of this written by the drug chain, but tell them you want the package insert, which is identical to the information in the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference). You are right in being a "fraidy cat" ehern it comes to pills. That is nothing to be afraid of. Many physicians prescribe drugs for uses other than that on the package insert. You need to assert yourself with this doctor and have him explain exactly what he expects this drug to do and why he prescribed it. I am tempted to advise you simply not to take it, but there are many missing pieces to your story, and I will not out-guess your physician. But you need some answer from this guy. Don't hesitate at a physician's office to ask these questions before you leave.
