tryglicerides

tryglicerides

My husband just received his test results showing his tryglicerides had increased from 174 three months ago to 267.  He has been on the HCG diet throught a local clinic and has followed the very healthy diet for three months.  No fats, lots of vegies and fruits and 80 oz water a day and no alchohol.  Collestoral is 170, down from 205.  What else can we do to lower the triglicerides (triglycerides) and why did they go up?  Thanks

WOW, that is a major jump. I used to have high triglycerides, my Naturopath told me take Carlson, Liquid fish oil, two tablespoons a day. I did, and they started to come down. I am in the "normal" range now, but, it took a while. The only other thing that might help them is "niacin" this also helps with high levels of HDL.

Here is a link to our Weight Loss Alternatives Forum, I just went there and I noticed other folks asking questions about this diet, to be honest, I am not too familiar with it.

Hope this helps.
