Have a cyst/legion, attached to the bladder, as a result of estrogen breaking away....is now 7.5 cm.   Have had 2 ultra sounds so far, and one cancer blood test, all with neg. results.   Have been to a ob/gyn surgeon, who says it need to come out, but the wait seems to be too long.  Is there such a thing as a general surgeon, who can do this, without the long wait??     thanks..

My mother had that and let hers get up to seven and a half pounds.  She was stuborn and would not have surgery.  You could always go to another doc or ask yours if any other doctors in his office have a closer surgery time. I have not heard of a general surgeon doing it.  You could also check with a Urologist, they do sugeries that involve the bladder.

Are you talking about endometriosis or fibroids?  What is the wait that seems too long?  If it is 6 weeks or something, that is probably not too long unless you have pain or other symptoms that are keeping you from working or just too uncomfortable all the time for you to concentrate or sleep.  These are benign conditions, so they can be scheduled at the doctor's convenience.  If there are other doctors in the practice, maybe a different doctor could do it sooner, but general surgeons don't do the surgery.
