post common bile duct operation recuperation

My wife had a very successful Common Bile Duct operation due to a huge enlargement (25mm) of it on Aug 23rd.
Our doctor suggested movement but she does not feel like it. At night she feels strange (not pain) in the stomach area. I have suggested going to move herself in a
swimming pool. Is this correct?
