I'm Wondering If Maybe I Got It From My Mother

i have had a cancerous brain tumor and the doctors said they didn't know what from that it just grew with me, and i don't know if i could have possibly gotten it from my parent because they seem to suffer from headaches so i was wondering if i possibly could have gotten it from them and if maybe they should be checked out about. i'm new to this so i don't know if i put it in the right place but i was concerned for my parent's health and i don't know much about medical issues so i'm just guessing but if you could please help me it would be deeply appreciated

Most cases of brain cancer occur sporadically. Cancer is a multifactorial condition, which means it involves a combination of genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors. A small percentage of cases are due to a hereditary cancer syndrome or a genetic condition.

A hereditary cancer syndrome is caused by an inherited gene mutation that increases the chance to develop one or more types of cancer. Families are more likely to have a hereditary cancer syndrome if there are multiple generations of affected family members with the same cancer (or associated cancers). People who are diagnosed at an unusually young age or have certain rare cancers are also more likely to have a hereditary cancer syndrome. Several different hereditary cancer syndromes have been identified.
