MTHFR

I was diagnosed with MTHFR, one copy of each C677T & A1298C.  My folate level was 4.9, B12 299, K 3.4  & cholesterol & triglycerides were elevated.  I just had repeat blood work done which included the rest of the B Vits & homocystine level & I haven't gotten results yet.  My Dr. has me on Deplin, K, fish oil, B12 SL, red rice yeast, hormone cream, multi vits, vit c, vit d, flax oil, calcium, ASA.  I feel healthy, & am 57.   I have several questions. My Dr. is refering me to a genetics counselor, I live in North West Arkansas & was wondering if there are any counselors who may be more versed in the condition than others.  Should I also see a hematologist, since my cholesterol & triglycerides are elevated.  Are there any studies or research being done that I may take part in, since I have both copies?  I have read all the posts on this website, regarding MTHFR, and found them very helpful.  Is there more information out there?  Most of the information is regarding pregnancy.

You may want to speak to your doctor about referrals to a cardiologist as well as a hematologist.
