bipolar

I have been on trileptal for 5 years for bipolar.   Recently a generic form was created oxcarbazepine.  Without going into grave detail I did not want to take the generic, but was informed from my pharmarcy it was the same. IT IS NOT!  I about got fired from my job for unreasonable episodes that I was only capible of comprehending once I got back on the BRAND name Trileptal.  I lived a very normal life, take very good care of my condition, understand it, read many books on it, work out, take it easy when I have to, and was quiet frankly very upset that I took a chance on generic medication that does not have the same effect!  Long story short.  The reason I know this is I tease my husband every night about getting my crazy pill and had asked him to see if he could find one of the brand name pills for me.  (Just maybe I had one left before i had to take the generic).  He said, " no you"ll have to take the generic."  Fine.  The next morning when I woke up he ask me how I felt and I had to say, "Well I think the generic must finally be working because I feel better", well guess what.  He informed me he really had found the brand name Trileptal and did not give me the generic.  Now all of a sudden I know I'm not just thinking in my head the oxcarbazepine that is suppose to be the same, which is not, is just not in my head!  How dare they.  I've lived a normal life for 5 years and a generic company that I know does not make the same medication could have screwed my whole life up!  Do you get that?  Does anybody who knows a bi-polars who really tries to live a normal life really understand how important it is that we get the meds that will help us to live a normal life?  Disgusted I am tonight.
